Moses Lake woman gets nearly 20 years for burglary

EPHRATA - A Moses Lake woman who rejected a plea deal that would have given her about three and a half years in prison, was sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison after being convicted of stealing guns, alcohol and electronics from a man's garage earlier this year.
Grant County Superior Court Judge John Knodell sentenced Cecily McFarland, 25, to more than 19 and a half years in prison and 18 months of probation after being found guilty by a jury earlier this month.
McFarland was previously convicted of possession of stolen property, forgery and bail jumping and faced between 18 and 25 years in prison for the burglary and theft.
Her accomplice in the theft, Chad Faircloth, accepted prosecutors' plea deal earlier in the month and will serve three and a half years in prison and three and a half years of probation, according to court documents.
In June, McFarland and Faircloth broke into her former boyfriend's home. She told Faircloth they were retrieving her property from the house, but instead the couple stole at least 10 guns from an unlocked gun safe, several bottles of liquor and electronics, according to court documents.
The next day police went to the home McFarland and Faircloth shared and found the stolen guns in their bedroom closet, according to court documents.
Faircloth admitted to stealing the guns, electronics and bottles of liquor with McFarland, according to court documents.
