Hit-and-run suspect still on the loose in Beverly

BEVERLY - Grant County Sheriff's Motor Traffic Unit deputies continue to search for a man suspected of striking a woman with a vehicle here on Sunday, Oct. 19.

Sheriff Tom Jones is asking the public to help find 23-year-old Raymundo Juarez Garcia.

Emergency responders were called at around 6:45 p.m. to the 17000 block of Main Street in Beverly. There they found the victim, Yolanda Garcia Alvarez, 38 of Beverly.

Garcia Alvarez said she was walking southbound on the east shoulder of Main Street when she was struck from behind by a 2000 Nissan Maxima driven by Raymundo Garcia, who then fled the scene.

Alvarez was transported to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland where she was hospitalized in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

About 90 minutes later, deputies learned the suspect may have fled to the College Apartments on Grape Drive in Moses Lake. Deputies went there and found the Maxima.

Deputies learned from witnesses that Garcia had left in a blue GMC Sierra pickup driven by someone else.

It is believed Garcia is hiding to avoid arrest. The Maxima was impounded as evidence.

"We are hoping someone who knows him will contact us with information on his whereabouts," Jones said.
