Focus on the best person for the job

| October 31, 2014 6:00 AM

My name is Bill Gilbert. Until this past January, I was Garth Dano's law partner. I worked with Garth for 12 years. During that period, I spent more time with Garth than anyone on this planet. I observed him in situations spanning the full spectrum of human emotion in family, social, and professional settings. There are not many people who know Garth better than me.

I could write a book about all the great things Garth has done for people over the years. It is the little things he does on a daily basis that no one knows about that make me proud to call him my friend. Garth is honorable, hardworking, loyal, and honest to a fault. He is socially responsible with a proven track record of always giving more of himself than he asks in return. Garth and his family are socially conscious, having donated hundreds of thousands of dollars in time and money to the church, community social organizations, schools, and the City of Moses Lake.

I admire Garth for not acknowledging, nor engaging in the mudslinging endorsed by Mr. Lee's campaign. Rising above the fray when one is being personally attacked takes tempered wisdom, resolve and a keen sense of honor. These are the attributes we need in our political and social leaders.

When you vote, disregard the campaign smears and political puffery, and focus on who the best person is for the job. Garth Dano is without question the best candidate for the position of prosecutor.
