Garth Dano's broad experience make him the better choice

I disagree with the implied conclusions about Garth Dano from that anonymous Grant County Concerned Voters (GCCV) pamphlet mailed out recently. Garth has admitted and clarified those allegations in a recent CBH article.

The pamphlet implies that if you ever do anything wrong in your life, you should drop out of your schooling or career, never seek a responsible job, and take no part in community activities. In their thinking, if you make mistakes, you will never amount to anything, and you have no right to lead or influence others. Garth Dano has made mistakes; we all have. Anybody with internet access and a little time can find things they may be surprised to learn about other current candidates for this November's election, including Mr. Lee.

Angus Lee, from previous advertisements, has established as a major cornerstone of his campaign, that Garth Dano represents criminals and "repeat drunk drivers" for a living. That's true, Garth does represent accused criminal defendants, along with hundreds of other clients, such as parents, children, small business owners, farmers, or those who have suffered injury. Grant County has three Superior Court judges who are tough, but fair, law and order judges. One of them, many years ago, represented criminal defendants, just like Garth Dano. Should that judge not have strived to serve his community in a position of trust because he stooped so low as to represent accused criminals? If you practice divorce law, are you anti-family?

In 2006, Garth Dano and his law firm won an award for their representation of a crime victim's family whose 12-year-old child was brutally murdered. Garth received this award during a time when part of his income was due to representing accused criminals. Garth Dano has always diligently represented his clients. If elected in November, I expect he will do the same for his new clients - law enforcement, crime victims, and the community.

Mr. Lee is a good man, and has many accomplishments in his relatively short career. If you compare the depth and breadth of their legal experience, however, Garth Dano is the winner, hands down. For these reasons, I will vote for Garth Dano for Grant County prosecutor.
