Royal High School's September students of month selected

ROYAL CITY - The educational staff at Royal High School has selected the four students of the month for September.

They are freshman Oswaldo Lopez, sophomore Hannah Lewis, junior Maria Marmolejo and senior Nalleli Arellano Cuenca.

The selections were made from a nomination list prepared by counselor Mark Kondo. Kondo considered several character traits, such as citizenship, academics and comportment.

Lopez's parents are Carmen Meza and Oswaldo Lopez. He has been inspired by 8th grade teacher Ben Orth.

Lopez's favorite movie is "Journey to the Center of the Earth". His favorite class is band, and he loves pizza. His favorite quote is: "The only thing to fear is fear itself."

Lewis is the daughter of Lance and Rebecca Lewis. Her favorite quote is: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Lewis likes algebra, America's Got Talent and Texas barbecue. Her favorite song is "Gone, Gone, Gone."

"My mom has inspired me because she's always handled everything life has thrown at her with grace," she said.

Marmolejo's parents are Alondra and Arnulfo Marmolejo. Her Uncle Arturo has inspired her because he always tells her to try her very best in everything.

Marmolejo's favorite TV show is Teen Wolf. Her favorite class is Spanish I, and she loves enchiladas.

"Notice the good, ignore the bad" is Marmolejo's favorite quote.

Arellano Cuenca is the daughter of Ranulfo Arellano and Blanca Cuenca. They are also her inspiration.

Arellano Cuenca favors Algebra II, Law and Order Special Unit and enchiladas. Her favorite activity is soccer.
