Born in Bend, Oregon May 19, 1935 to Millie Lazon Cary and Joseph E. Cary, her parents divorced when Loretta was very young. Millie married Sheldon (Sam) Paine who served as Loretta's adoring father and "Grandpa Sam" to her children.

Moses Lake was home to Loretta for most of her life. She and her husband Steve lived in Westlake, Knolls Vista, and settled long-term in Sunset Acres. When Sam passed away, they moved to Block 89 to continue to manage her family farm.

Steve and Loretta volunteered at the Moses Lake Food Bank for years. After Steve's passing, Loretta continued her volunteer work at the Moses Lake Senior Center until health issues made it difficult for her to keep a regular schedule.

Loretta is survived by her children Tom Hitchcock, Sheldon (Marie) Hitchcock, Vicky (Dan) Roseburg, Kelly (Doug) Bundy, and Jeff Hitchcock and many dearly loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Loretta's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, or to your local animal shelter.
