Reader: Dani Bolyard knows the issues

| October 18, 2014 6:00 AM

The right to vote gave me the power to choose what and who I believe in; it did not demand I vote by party or because the man on TV told me to, and no one gets to dictate which bubble I fill in.

I love my right and exercise it each time the ballot comes. With less than 20 percent approval rating for U.S. Congress, the country seems to continue voting for the "same old thing", but gets angry at each decision they make. This will carry on until we quit voting for the members of the "Good 'Ole Boys" club, for people whose main credential is "It's Their Time," or whoever has a "D" or "R" after their name. We need to hold accountable the people we place in office and the decisions they make; after all, it is our vote that put them there.

We can pick the people with the most toys, the most money, the most friends. Or we can pick the person who understands the issues and knows how to work through them. Dani Bolyard is one of those people. I will not preach her issues here; you can visit her website, Facebook or even give her a call and she will discuss any issue with you.

What I will tell you is she truly cares about this country and works hard to make sure everyone is held accountable for their actions, including herself. She has promised to never cast her vote on a bill without reading it first and listening to our concerns. Dani is not narcissistic enough to think she has all the answers. She may have an idea, but she is willing to talk and listen to the people to understand their ideas and see if we can come up with a better solution together. She is well informed on the issues in the district and can cite facts and other relevant information without having to reference anything first.

As a person who knows Dani personally, I am confident Dani will not be coerced, she will not be bought, she will not be steam-rolled. She will defend our constitution, her constituents and the freedoms given to us by our forefathers.

We as voters need to feel confident in who we elect to represent us. I have that confidence in her and hope you join me in voting for Dani Bolyard for District 13, position 1.
