Prosecution, defense play equal part in Grant County's legal record

| October 17, 2014 6:00 AM

Did you know statistics show the yearly average for continuances from the Grant County Prosecutor's Office is about 10, and the average continuances from the defense is about 300, according to information presented at recent candidate forums.

So I'm wondering why Garth Dano is trying to make it appear like it's all the prosecutor's office.

Did you know our current prosecutor's office completes cases sooner than the state average? Did you know communicating by e-mail between the prosecutor and defense is a safeguard from negligence/liabilities of he said/she said and it eliminates closed door politics/good boy networking? All e-mails are privy to the public under the Public Disclosure Act.

So yet again, I am wondering why Garth would want to implement negligence/liabilities, and hold conversations the public would not be privy to by disclosure.

Did you know crime rates have decreased since Angus Lee has been our elected prosecutor? If you want to know how well Angus works with others his endorsements make it crystal clear, Angus is the right person for the job. Some endorsements he works with on a daily basis are: All three elected county commissioners; elected sheriff, Tom Jones; elected county clerk, Kim Allen; elected treasurer, Darryl Pheasant; Jerry Moberg; etc.

So I can't help but wonder, why would Garth make it appear like Angus is difficult to work with when those who work with him on a daily basis don't say that? Because the public deserves to know the truth and that's why I am voting for Angus Lee.
