Kathleen Thomas

Kathleen 'Kathy' Thomas was born on October 30, 1919 and passed on October 6, 2014 in Yakima, WA. Kathy was born in Leahy, WA to William and Jean Nilles, the second of 5 children. She attended school in Orting and Eatonville, WA.

Kathy married Morris Thomas on October 24, 1936 in Tacoma, WA. They were married just short of 76 years when Morry passed away in 2012. Kathy was an accomplished homemaker, knitter, seamstress, gardener, cook and baker. She canned and preserved anything that was edible.

Kathy and Morry fished together on lakes, rivers, streams, the ocean, and kept the freezer well stocked. She loved to dance and travel and they spent many retirement winters following the sun to Arizona. Kathy spent 48 years in western Washington, 5 years in Spokane, 16 years in the Potholes area and 26 years in Yakima.

Kathy is survived by daughters Patti Thomas of Ellensburg, Faye (Ken) Hamilton of Wapato, and sons Frank (Mary) of Moses Lake and Jerry (Pauline) Thomas of Sun City West, AZ, 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters and one brother.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
