Ronald D. Sumner

Ronald D. Sumner died on October 8, 2014 at home with family at his side. Ron was born in Twin Falls Idaho on February 3, 1947 to Doris N. Von Lindern and John D. Sumner.

The family moved to Moses Lake in 1955. Ron graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1965. On August 5, 1967, he married Pam Baumgardner in Moses Lake. They had two children, Brandi Lynn and Wade William.

In 2005 Ron received a new lease on life thanks to the generosity of an organ donor. Following a diagnosis of PSC, he had a liver transplant, allowing him to see his much loved grandchildren grow up. He developed such a loving relationship with "our babies".

Ron is survived by his mother, Doris, sister Donna Van Keulen, wife Pam, Daughter Brandi, Son Wade (Liz), Granddaughters; KoDee Pruett (Stetson Steiger), KyLee Pruett (David Harrell) and Stella Sumner. Grandson: Kade Michael and great granddaughter, SkyLar Harrell. Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law: Penny Whitaker (Bart) and Patti Ingalls (Arthur) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and many life-long friends.

Ron was predeceased by his father, John Sumner, Mother and Father-in-Law, Sis and Fuzzy Baumgardner and Brother-in-law, Larry Van Keulen

There will be a service held on Saturday, October 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church on Nelson Rd in Moses Lake. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grant County Animal Outreach and please be an organ donor!!
