Marlene Joy Goodman, 77, of Ephrata Washington, passed away October 5th, 2014 at Avalon Care Center in Othello Washington.

Marlene Joy Goodman, 77, of Ephrata Washington, passed away October 5th, 2014 at Avalon Care Center in Othello Washington. She was born in Porterville California on December 27th, 1936 to parents Newton and Ida Harris. Marlene or "Granny" grew up in Porterville and Modesto California with her 5 siblings. She was married to Hubert Neil Goodman in Modesto September 30th, 1955. They moved to Washington in 1970. They raised their 8 children in Davenport Washington for the better part of their childhood. Marlene was a stay at home mom. She enjoyed oil painting and orchard life, but her primary passion was for her family. Activities she loved most were for example, attending and showing support for her children's sporting events, or simply sitting down with them to play a board game. She will be missed. She is survived by her children; Jewel (Gary) Rollinger of Mesquite Nevada, Kim (Jeff) Dean of Portland Oregon, Pauline (Jerald) Meehan of Tri Cities Washington, Ida Cruz of Ephrata Washington, Raymond Goodman of Ephrata Washington, Robert Goodman of Ritzville Washington, Mathew (Terry) Goodman of Lakewood Washington, Ronnie (Kristi) Goodman of Ephrata Washington, and Walter Trimbel of Royal City Washington, and siblings; Oleta (George) Martin of Modesto California, Bettie Burkett of Modesto California, and Debbie (Tim) Gales of Modesto California. Granny also leaves 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren to cherish her loving memory. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Ida (Red) Howe, her father Lawrence Harris, her grandson Zachary Trainer, and her brothers, Mike Howe and Larry (Jr.) Harris. Visitation was held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, October 9th, 2014, and 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, October 10th, 2014, at Stevens Funeral Chapel in Othello Washington. Funeral arrangements were held at 1:00 pm, October 11th, 2014, at Stevens Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Naches Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Stevens Funeral Chapel.
