Quincy chamber seeks nominations for annual awards

QUINCY - The Quincy Valley Chamber of Commerce is gearing up to recognize a few members of their community.

The organization is accepting nominations for their 2014 Lifetime Achievement, Business of the Year, Teacher of the Year and Volunteer of the Year awards. The chamber presents these awards annually.

Nominations must be made by Nov. 6. The winners will be announced during the chamber's banquet Nov. 15.

The Lifetime Achievement award is given to community member who promote the good of the community through his or her profession and/or community involvement.

The Business of the Year award is presented to a business that has achieved excellence in all aspects of business management and supported community projects, according to the chamber. The business nominated must be in good standing with the chamber.

Teacher of the Year nominees should demonstrate a superior ability to both teach and inspire students. And the Volunteer of the Year nominees should demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism and a willingness to go the extra mile to benefit the city.
