MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce will once again highlight businesses and individuals who have contributed to the community over the year during their banquet this week.

The chamber will give their President's Award and their Ambassador of the Year Award during the event, which takes place at Pillar Rock Grill Oct. 16. They will also announce the 2014 Ag Hall of Fame inductees that night.

Last year's President's Award went to National Frozen Foods, who was recognized for sending corn to several food banks in the state. Ambassador Shawn Koethke was named Ambassador or the Year last year.

David Sparks and Bonnie and Craig Schafer were inducted into the Ag Hall of Fame during last year's banquet. The Ag Hall of Fame was created to honor those who have contributed to the community's agricultural industry.

Doors open for this year's banquet at 5:30 p.m. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.

Rep. Matt Manweller, R-Ellensburg, is one of the banquet's guest speakers and will give attendees a legislative forecast. SGL Plant Manager Steve Swanson will also speak during the night.

He will discuss current expansions at the plant as well as future plans, according to the chamber.

Chamber Executive Director Debbie Doran-Martinez said tickets for the banquet have already sold out.
