Time for change

| October 3, 2014 6:00 AM

I am writing this letter in support of Garth Dano for Prosecutor. I am voting for him myself and I recommend that everyone in the area do the same. In 2012, the Washington State Bar Association filed formal disciplinary charges against our current prosecutor, accusing him of engaging in conflicts of interest and of trying to force an assistant to do the same. Bar officials said they know of no other instance in Washington where a county's top prosecutor has faced formal charges while still in office. If Lee is found to have violated ethics rules, he could face possible suspension of his law license. It is painfully obvious that it is time for a change in the Prosecutor's office and Garth Dano is the ideal candidate for that position. Garth has been practicing law since 1980. That was about the time the existing prosecutor was born. Dano is extremely qualified as prosecutor with significant experience including thousands of criminal felony and misdemeanor cases. He is an active member of the Grant County Bar Association (past president no less), the Washington Bar Association, The Washington Foundation for Criminal Justice, the Washington State Association for Justice, the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (past Governor and Vice-President) and the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America. Please join me in voting for Garth Dano as Grant County Prosecuting Attorney.
