Warriors fall to Riverview

MATTAWA - Maripaz Olivarez provided strong leadership, but it wasn't enough carry Wahluke past Riverview in a 15-25, 16-25, 18-25 Volleyball loss last week.

"The team played hard but had communication breakdowns that cost us too many points," coach Rudi Christian said. "There were moments of greatness."

Many of those moments were provided by Olivarez. She scored four kills, made seven perfect passes and seven digs.

Maria Salas had a great floor game, making 14 digs and two perfect passes. Diana Silverio had six digs and four perfect passes, and Selena Prudente had six digs and three perfect passes.

"Our defense kept us in the game," Christian said. "The back row dug several of Riverview's hard hits and strategic shots."
