Donors made Samaritan drive a success

| November 29, 2014 5:00 AM

At this time of year, many of us pause from our busy lives to reflect and give thanks for the bounties we enjoy. These bounties may include our health and family in addition to not having to worry about paying for food. Unfortunately, this is not the case for many families in our community.

Please allow us to take this opportunity to thank the community of Moses Lake for making the 14th annual Samaritan Healthcare Turkey & Canned Food Drive a success again this year. Over 11,500 pounds of food was collected along with $9,657 in cash and checks. Community members bought and donated 146 turkeys equating to 2,482 pounds of poultry and 9,000 pounds of canned food and other food items.

Samaritan would like to acknowledge our sponsors for this annual drive: Columbia Basin Herald, KDRM/KBSN Radio, Safeway Food & Drug and Signs Now. We could not accomplish what we do without their help and the help of all community members and Samaritan Healthcare employees who donate their time to make this event a success.

Again, thank you for supporting this event that benefits our local community. We hope your Thanksgiving holiday is the best ever.
