Arnold "Arnie" E. Simpson 79, born April 5, 1935 in Rupert, Iaho, son of Robert and Adeline Simpson, went to be with the Lord on Saturday Nov. 22, 2014 after a long battle with Dementia/Alzheimer's and heart disease.

Arnie is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jean L Simpson, his daughter Jeannette (Dan) Krumm of Manson, son Keith (Caye) Simpson, daughter Carolyn (Jay) Johnson and daughter Arna (Randy) Johnson all of Moses Lake, 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Adeline (Docstader) Simpson of Rupert, Idaho, his brother Floyd Simpson of Rupert, Idaho, and his grandson Scott Johnson of Moses Lake.

Arnie and Jean were married on Oct. 23, 1953 in Rupert, Idaho and were sealed for Time and Eternity on June 12, 1993 at the Seattle Temple.

Arnie and Jean moved to Moses Lake in 1953, where he worked at U and I Sugar Plant, Parker Buick, Leo Sanders American Motors, Lake Auto Parts, Crystal Linen Supply and Bestway Motor Freight. Due to health issues he was forced to retire at 46. Arnie was a member of the LDS church where he held many positions. Arnie and Jean spent many summers at George Town Lake, Mont. as camp hosts, where they met many new friends.

Arnie was a skilled mechanic, fabricator, woodworker and builder. He enjoyed bowling, camping, hunting and fishing. He worked with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and youth baseball. But what Arnie enjoyed most was spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids teaching them how to fish, and enjoy nature.

Funeral services will be held on Friday Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. at the LDS church at 925 North Grape Dr., Moses Lake, with Bishop Stones presiding. Lunch will be provided by the Relief Society following the service.
