Herbert I. Pederson

Herbert I. Pederson, 80, passed away on Nov. 15, 2014 at Summerwood Special Care Center in Moses Lake. Herb was born on Nov. 19th, 1933 in Halliday, N.D. to Gertrude and Alfred Pederson. In 1946, he and his family moved to Idaho where they purchased 40 acres and a log house on Gold Hill 2 miles from Kendrick, Idaho. After Herb graduated from Kendrick High School in 1951, he enlisted and served in the Marine Corps from 1952 to 1955. After returning home from Korea, he worked at a variety of construction and logging jobs. In March 1960, he married his wife of 54 years, Erin, and began his career with Grant County PUD. After 27 years of employment with the PUD doing a variety of electrical and management jobs, he retired in November 1987. Herb enjoyed his retirement years traveling, golfing, fishing, hunting and just taking it easy.

Herb is survived by his wife, Erin, daughter, Lisa Morrow of Moses Lake, son Robert Pederson (wife Lotte Lindegaard, granddaughter Martha and grandson Albert) of Copenhagen, Denmark, grandson James Dykes (wife Krista and great granddaughter Kamryn) of Pasco, sisters Inez Browleit of Spokane and Marilyn Benjamin (Verlin) of Lewiston, Idaho, brothers Doug Pederson (Lynn) of Arizona and Jerry Pederson (Bobbie) of Spokane and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Gertrude Pederson, brothers - Ken, Ed, Leroy and Richard Pederson, sister Gladys Pederson and grandson Ian Dykes.

Funeral services will be held at the Alliance Church, 1100 N Grape Dr., Moses Lake, WA on Friday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alliance Church, the Summerwood Special Care Center or the Alzheimer's Association.
