Tom Dent grateful for voters confidence

| November 19, 2014 5:00 AM

Free elections are truly the landmark of America. Our Constitution has given us rights not enjoyed by most of the world's population. We must not let this freedom slip away.

I would like to thank the voters of the 13th district for your overwhelming confidence in me and sending me to the Washington State Legislature as your new representative. I am truly humbled by the support and trust you, the voters have given me. I will work hard to represent you in Olympia.

Campaigning for state representative has been an incredible experience. I have met so many new friends and learned so much about the district we live in. The 13th district, from Reardan to Easton, is an incredible place that we are truly blessed to call home.

Thanks to my volunteers and campaign team, without a doubt the best campaign team I have ever been associated with. All your hours of plain old hard work has paid off by helping me get the message out doorbelling, phone banking, fundraising, parades, putting up signs, building and updating the web site and Facebook pages and keeping me going. I am proud to call you my friends!

To the folks who supported my opponent, I intend to work hard during the next two years to earn your trust and support as well. In the end, we are all Americans. Coming together to work toward a common goal is one of the traits that make America Great.

There are many serious issues facing Washington State, including education funding, classroom size, transportation infrastructure and minimum wage. These and many more will be on the table during the upcoming legislative session. Please feel free to contact me with your questions, comments or concerns. I am truly honored to have the opportunity to serve the citizens of the 13th district.
