GED ceremony June 11 at Big Bend CC

MOSES LAKE - Big Bend Community College will sponsor a graduation ceremony for people who earned a GED or "high school completion diploma" through the college. The ceremony is at 7 p.m. June 11 at the Wallenstein Theater, 26th Street NE.

Participation is free.

Caps and gowns are loaned to the students for the evening. People who want to participate in the ceremony should be at the theater at 6 p.m., said Doug Sly, the college's public information director.

"A highlight of the evening is an open microphone for GED recipients to tell their stories and thank their families," Sly said. "The ceremony is one of the most positive and emotional events held on campus each year."

Students are eligible for the ceremony if they received a GED through the college since June 2013, Sly said. Students who want to participate can contact Margie Lane, 509-793-2064.
