LeFave, McKay advance to state tourney
YAKIMA - Moses Lake tennis is sending one doubles team to the state tournament.
After a dominating regular season, Carina LeFave and Kylee McKay finished as the No. 2 doubles team at the 4A District 6 Tournament in Yakima.
The Eastmont duo of Abby Waterhouse and Awbrey May finished in first place.
The doubles team of Nolan Knapp and Jace Hunt finished third, good for an alternate spot in the state tournament.
Both Moses Lake tennis teams finished fourth at the district tournament. The girls totalled 15.5 points while the boys managed 14 points.
Eastmont girls tennis won the district championship with 25.5 points, just edging Wenatchee by two points.
Wenatchee boys tennis dominated the field with 34.5 points and secured a district title.
The state tournament will be May 30-31 in Richland High School.
LeFave and McKay will face will face Myint-Zu Kyaw and Hanna Rehnfeldt from Edmonds-Woodway.
