Ag World Golf Classic tees off for sick children
Dust off your clubs and get ready to hit the links on June 16 at the First Annual Ag World Golf Classic. The event will take place at the Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick at :00 p.m. Rates are $200 for an individual player or $800 for a team. A box lunch and a banquet dinner are also included.
All proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald House of Spokane. Ronald McDonald House is a nationwide charity that provides accommodations and support for families of children who have to travel away from home for medical services.
RMHC Spokane supports three programs, all designed to strengthen local families and promote children’s health. Ronald McDonald House Spokane provides a “home away from home” for families with children accessing medical treatment in Spokane. The Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital provide a place for families to rest and regroup right at the hospital while their children receive treatment. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program enables over 2,000 children in Central Washington to access basic medical and dental care each year.
Ag World founder Warren Henninger hit on the idea of hosting the tournament after helping to sponsor a similar event in Manitoba.
"Often a family is in crisis when their child has need for an extensive hospital stay," said Heninger. "The Ronald McDonald House in Spokane gives them a place to stay... It's just one thing they don't have to think about; their lodging is taken care of for them."
