Man robs Moses Lake market carrying sword
MOSES LAKE - A sword wielding man reportedly robbed Frank's Market in Moses Lake Sunday morning and remains at large.
About 9:50 a.m., an unknown man entered the East Nelson Road business carrying a Samurai-style sword and went behind the counter where he was confronted by the owner, according to Capt. Dave Sands.
The suspect brandished the sword and pushed the owner to the ground. The owner defended herself by striking the suspect with a golf club that was behind the counter. The suspect left the store with the cash register and fled on a bicycle, Sands said.
Officers recovered several items of clothing and other evidence nearby where the suspect was seen fleeing.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his 20s, last seen wearing black shoes, blue jeans and a black sweatshirt. He also had a maroon backpack and fled on a dark colored BMX style bike.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Matt Fulbright at 509-762-1160.
