Vendors prep for Spring Festival
MOSES LAKE - There was a lot of activity at McCosh Park Thursday, as dozens of commercial vendors spent the day preparing their booths before the official kick off of this year's Moses Lake Spring Festival.
There are about 45 vendors participating in the event this year, vendor chair Lori Valdez said. Last year, close to 40 vendors were at Spring Fest, she said.
"We have about six new vendors that signed up to be here this year," Valdez said.
One of the new vendors this year is Othello Sporting Goods. Owner Char Garza, who recently bought the business, said she wanted to get the store additional exposure.
"We're trying it out for the first time this year just to see what we can do," she said.
They brought a lot of the merchandise they sell at the store to Spring Fest, Garza said. The Othello Sporting Goods booth will feature jewelry, handbags and other items.
Vernie Murray and Liza Friend were also setting up their booth Thursday afternoon. The two are consultants with Premier Designs, a direct-service jewelry distributor.
Murray said she used to own a business in downtown Moses Lake, and would set up shop at Spring Fest. However, this is the first year she's staffing a booth for Premier Designs.
"This is our first time here, we want to get the word out, meet new people and book some shows," Murray said. "And sell some jewelry."
Friend said visitors to the booth can also try their hand at winning a prize with their "Roll and Win" game.
Valdez said vendors will operate the same hours Spring Fest does. They are open Friday from noon to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
