Laura Jean Salm

In the stillness of the early morning hours, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Laura, passed peacefully, freeing her gentle spirit from the burden of lung disease. She spent her last days in the comfort of her Moses Lake home, with loving care, and soothing guitar, of husband Eric; amidst company of family and close friends. There was much love, laughter, playfulness, and affection, as usual.

She was born at the USAF Hospital in Tachikawa Japan. She was the fourth of five children, and only daughter, of Arthur Edward Miller and Norma Jean (Archer) Miller. She spent her life in Moses Lake. She was a long-term and valued employee at the Grocery Outlet, where she met hundreds of friends and acquaintances over the years. She had a very quick wit, a great sense of humor, and a fondness for people, which served her, and her customers, very well. She often spoke of missing them greatly after she could no longer work.

Laura was a kind and gentle person with a gifted understanding of children. She was genuine, comforting to all, but children of all ages had a special attraction to her nurturing spirit, instinctive awareness of their needs, and unconditional lovingness. Her own babies, and grand-babies, were extra-special people whom she cherished, and always will. Her unstoppable humor was passed on to her children and grand-children. No hardship, happiness, gain or loss, will ever be spared from a clever comment!

She is survived by her husband Eric (Papa) Salm of Moses Lake, son Steven Daniel Miller of France, son Scott Allen Weaver of Ephrata, grand-daughter Stephanie Danielle Miller of Kennewick, grandson Gregory Scott Miller of Kennewick, grandson Adrian Tate Weaver of Ephrata, grandson Preston Riley Weaver of Ephrata, brother Tim Miller of Bellevue, brother Steve Miller of Seattle, brother Ken Miller of Moses Lake, and brother Kevin P. Miller of Moses Lake; nieces, nephews, and many extended family members and friends in the community. A loving soul has passed on.
