Kudos to health fair organizers

A big thank you goes out to Samaritan Healthcare for a great community health fair. One of the best things about living in a small community like Moses Lake happened this past Saturday. The local hospital gave back to the area with their annual health fair. This was a chance to get a reading on your own health without the high cost normally involved. You just won't find this type of community involvement in most major city hospitals. It is a wonderful resource for the people in our area.

A basic blood screening was $5 with additional choices available. You could get your lungs checked, blood pressure checked, bone density tested (ran out of time for that) and a body mass index reading. There was information and freebies for all and you could meet and greet many of the doctors and staff. I understand that this health fair has helped people in the past to find health problems early and possibly even saved lives. I've gone most every year and enjoy the friendly people that have taken their Saturday morning to help poke, test and inform those there.

There are many things good things that happen in our community, this health fair is just a little hidden one at makes this a special place.

Thanks to the staff at Samaritan Healthcare and Connie Opheikens and Dave Campbell for all the hard work to put this together. Job well done!
