MOSES LAKE - Registrations are still being accepted for Saturday's Mosaik Skate Fest at the Moses Lake Skate Park, 414 West 4th Ave. The skateboard competition is part of Spring Fest, the annual celebration over Memorial Day weekend in Moses Lake.

Skaters compete in beginner, intermediate and advanced divisions. Intermediate and advanced divisions will switch to the jam format for 2014, according to organizers.

The jam format will have two skaters on the course, although the skaters are judged individually. All skaters will be judged on style, creativity and difficulty of their moves.

Registration actually is open until directly before competition, with check-in and late registration at 10 a.m. Beginners skate at 11 a.m., with intermediates at 12:30 and the advanced division at 2 p.m.

Cost is $15 per person, which includes an event T-shirt. All participants must wear a helmet, and all boarders younger than 18 must have signed permission from parents. Competitors also can enter at Mosaik Boardshop, 320 Cedar Ave. in Moses Lake.

Other activities include the three-on-three basketball tournament and the Festival Fun Run, five kilometers and 10 kilometers. The race begins at 8 a.m.

Online registration for the run is still open; people can register at BuDuRacing.com through Thursday. Cost is $18 to $20 per person, with family rates available.

Participants are asked to retrieve race numbers and timing chips from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Moses Lake Museum and Art Center. Participants will be asked to show identification and sign a waiver.

The race begins and ends at the Surf 'n Slide Water Park.
