EPHRATA - Grant County Tax Assessor Laure Grammer said she is the right person to continue to guide the county in complex tax issues. She recently announced she is seeking re-election.

Grammer is running against real estate agent Dave Dinges and county public record's officer Melissa McKnight.

"With the rise of many multinational and multimillion dollar businesses locating in Grant County, and the change to annual evaluation of real and personal property in the county, the complexity of maintaining the timely operations of the assessor's office has grown significantly," she stated.

In a prepared statement, Grammer wrote she spends time educating the public about state law and their interpretation. Her tenure as assessor shows she works to treat people fairly, she explained.

Grammer said her door has always been open to answer tax payer's questions, and she tries to listen carefully to their issues.

She said as assessor she is "staying educated, understanding the intent of the laws and networking to insure the correct action is taken," she said.
