Quincy chiropractor runs for county commission

EPHRATA - Randy Zolman said he wants to bring more attention to the Quincy area if he is elected as Grant County commissioner.

He announced his candidacy this week.

"There are a lot of unhappy folks at this end of the county," Zolman said. "I feel like people are at their wits' end at this end of the county and they need to have a little more input in county (government)," he said.

Zolman is a chiropractor, station chief at Crescent Bar Battalion and serves on the hospital district number two board. He is running against Royal City resident and current commissioner Cindy Carter.

"I do not know the legalities or how everything flows, but I'm a good listener and I will do what I can to alleviate issues. My whole premise is try to improve the organization," he said.

Zolman said he worked as a mechanic for John Deere in Quincy for 15 years, where he got to meet many farmers and hear about the issues that affect orchards and other agriculture-related issues.

Zolman said what he lacks in governance, he makes up for with his open mind toward constituents' issues.

"I'm willing to listen and in listening there may be parts and pieces that the county can do and there may not be, but at least I am going to give them the time," he said.

Zolman said he has been married for 40 years and has two sons and four grandchildren.
