RICHLAND - Washington State University alumni and supporters have a chance to support up and coming Cougar leaders by golfing in the Columbia Crimson Golf Classic.

Moses Lake previously held a separate Cougar Crimson Classic, but due to cutbacks at WSU, the event is no longer running.

“If you want to play in the classic to support the school, consider going to this one,” said Columbia Basin Herald publisher, avid golfer and WSU fan, Harlan Beagley.

The Classic begins at 1 p.m. May 19 at Meadow Springs Country Club in Richland. Entry starts at $150 for an individual player and $600 per team. Sponsorship opportunities are available, as well as guest dinner tickets, according to a recent document from WSU Tri-Cities.

This will be the third annual Columbia Crimson Golf Classic. Last year it raised $24,000, doubling the amount from the year before.
