Vernon J. Miller

Vernon J. Miller, age 80, passed away on Thursday, May 1st, 2014, at Spokane Hospice House in Spokane, WA. He was born September 9th,1933 in Minot, North Dakota, to Clarence and Mureen Miller. Vernon grew up in Minot, and served in the armed forces in the Korean War 1952-1954. Vern married Beverly Hoglund on September 18th,1954 in Minot, N.D.. They were married for 59 1/2 years.

He moved to the Spokane area in 1958. He resided in the Yakima / Selah area for 35 years, where he owned and operated Vern's Carpet Service. He retired in Moses Lake 20 years ago.

Vernon was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Selah, Yakima Bible Chapel, Naches Country Bible Chapel, and the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Moses Lake. Vernon led an active life: boating, fishing, water skiing, bowling,wood working, and was a national champion horseshoe pitcher. Many of us remember him relishing a good debate.

Vern is survived by his wife, Beverly Miller of Moses Lake, WA. and his children Cynthia Seabury of North Cyprus, Roderick Miller of Las Vegas, Michele Miller Monnot of Las Vegas, his sister Betty Alldredge of Evansville, IN. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and numerous greatgrand children.

Vernon was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Charles Miller and Harry Ed Miller and children, Natalie Miller Dodson, and Jason Miller.

A Memorial service will be held at Christian Missionary Alliance 1100 N. Grape Dr. Moses Lake, Saturday May 24th at 1:00 P.M. Please call 509 766 6955 if you have any questions about the service.
