Warden softball drops two games against Connell

CONNELL - Warden's undefeated season ended abruptly with two losses against first place Connell.

The Cougars (6-2, 11-2) remain in second place in the SCAC, one game ahead of third place River View.

Despite outhitting Connell in both games, Warden was unable to push many runners across home plate and fell 7-5 in game one and 7-2 in the nightcap.

Head coach Wes Richins felt Connell took advantage of Warden's flat play throughout the doubleheader.

Aaliyah Enriquez was 3 for 7 in the two games and recorded 10 and nine strikeouts, respectively.

Brenna Whitney ended 4 for 6 with a double and Allycia Gonzales powered a three-run home run.

BryLee Whitney and Andrea Contreras was 2 for 5 and 2 for 7, respectively.

Warden will host River View today in a battle for second place in the SCAC.

Around the basin

Othello (12-0, 14-0) continued to cruise through CWAC play with two blowout wins against Grandview, 22-0 and 16-0.

The Huskies face Wapato today before a matchup with fellow unbeaten Ellensburg on May 10.

Ephrata (4-10, 5-11) dropped two games to West Valley (Yakima) recently, 8-2 and 9-2.

The Tigers will look to climb the CWAC standings with two games against winless Grandview May 9.

Quincy (3-9, 6-12) recorded a sweep of Tonasket, 13-3 and 16-0.

The Jacks close their season at home against Chelan May 9.
