Cheryl Pipkin

| May 7, 2014 6:00 AM

Cheryl was called to heaven on April 28, 2014 after a two year hard fought battle with small cell lung cancer. She did not leave this world without one last unselfish deed. Being an organ donor and having healthy corneas, she was able to help one last person to see the world better.

Cheryl was born on January 5, 1948 in Richland, Washington where she grew up and graduated from Richland High School. Cheryl and Phillip Pipkin married on May 9, 1970 and enjoyed raising their four children and seeing their grandchildren growing up to be the beautiful young adults they are becoming.

She began working for the State of Washington at the Department of Social and Health Services as a Clerk Typist 3 in 1977 in Ellensburg. In 1990 she became a Financial Service Specialist in the Moses Lake Department of Social and Health Services office where she helped many families in Grant and Adams Counties. Cheryl ended her career of 34+ years as an Administrative Hearing Coordinator and retired on April 30, 2013.

In her retirement Cheryl enjoyed traveling in her RV and accomplished her goal to visit all accessible light houses in Washington and Oregon with her husband and three of her grandchildren.

Cheryl leaves behind her loving husband, three children, son-in-law, five grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Cheryl joined her mother, father, brother-in-law, stepson and granddaughter in heaven and will be missed by all that knew her.

A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 10, 2014

at the Moses Lake Alliance Church, 1100 N. Grape Drive. Please sign the online guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made in Cheryl's name to Lung Cancer charities.
