Moses Lake tennis teams fall to Pirates, drops to 2-7

MOSES LAKE - The Chiefs boys and girls tennis teams lost to Davis High School this week as both teams fell to 2-4 in league play and 2-7 overall.

The boys began the contest by winning all three of the doubles matches.

The last doubles match between James Zimmer and Ming Bowser of Moses Lake and Tarik Snow and Oscar Agapito of Davis was especially tight, as the Chiefs won 7-5, 7-6 (7-3).

Davis stepped up its play with the singles' matches and won all four matches, taking the contest 4-3.

#1 doubles Nolan Knapp/Chad Palmer MLHS v. Tom Cross/Ty Goulet DHS 6-1, 6-3

#2 doubles Pedro Barreras/Tyler Ward MLHS v. Trey Tamaki/Lucas Cook DHS 6-0, 6-1

Carina LeFave continued her winning ways, this time as the Chiefs #1 singles player.

LeFave beat Paige Toop, Davis' #1, 6-1, 6-1.

LeFave was the lone winner for the Chiefs, as they lost 1-6. LeFave and Kylee McKay took a break from playing as the Chiefs #1 doubles team in the contest, and remain undefeated, 7-0, as a duo.
