BBCC splits with WWCC, remains in playoff picture

MOSES LAKE - After splitting two games against Walla Walla recently, only a glimmer of hope remains for Big Bend baseball's postseason chances.
The Vikings (9-13, 17-15) relinquished an early lead in game one, losing 8-3. However, the team was able to rally from a 4-0 deficit in the nightcap and complete the comeback when Ryan Wade was walked with the bases loaded, giving Big Bend the 6-5 win.
In game one, Big Bend led 2-0 after the first inning before Walla Walla was able to notch eight unanswered runs. The Vikings tacked on a run in the seventh inning, but were unable to string together an extended rally to close the deficit.
Reign Letkeman was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and one run scored in the loss.
Jacob Yamane also drove in a run for Big Bend.
With six games remaining, the Vikings trail Columbia Basin by four games for the final playoff berth in the NWAACC East region.
Each team has six games remaining and will face each other on May 7 in Pasco.
Before meeting Columbia Basin, Big Bend will look for a sweep on the road against seventh place Wenatchee Valley on May 3.
