NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Grant County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room located on the 2nd floor of the Grant County Courthouse at 35 C Street NW in Ephrata, Washington, on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 3:30 p.m.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Grant County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room located on the 2nd floor of the Grant County Courthouse at 35 C Street NW in Ephrata, Washington, on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 3:30 p.m.
The purpose of the public hearing is to review community development and housing needs, inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, and receive comments on proposed activities, particularly from lower income persons residing in the Grant County area.
Up to $1 million may be available to Grant County on a statewide competitive basis to fund public facility, community facility, economic development, planning and affordable housing projects that principally benefit low- and moderate-income persons.
At the time of this notice, the County has been requested to apply for 2014 CDBG General Purpose Grant funds for two separate projects: (1) the Royal Water District’s Water System Improvement Project; and (2) McKay Healthcare & Rehab’s Boiler Plant Replacement. An entity is permitted to submit only one CDBG General Purpose Grant application per year and it is not yet known which of the above projects Grant County will be sponsoring for a funding application. An outline of each of the proposed projects will be available for review at the Grant County Commissioners office on May 2nd and afterwards. Comments may also be submitted in writing from the time of this notice until 3:00 p.m. on May 12th, 2014, to:

A Spanish language interpreter will be available at the public hearing. The Commissioners’ Hearing Room is handicap accessible, with elevator access from the first floor of the Courthouse to the second floor.
