Grant PUD receives national honor for turbine work

| May 2, 2014 11:05 AM

EPHRATA - The Grant County PUD recently won an award for its turbine design and implementation at the now damaged Wanapum Dam.
The National Hydropower Association, a trade organization representing
the hydropower industry, gave one of its six Outstanding Stewards of American Waters awards to the utility for the "state of the art advanced turbine for Wanapum Dam."

In February, the utility declared a state of emergency when divers found a 65-foot, two-inch crack in Wanapum Dam's spillway Monolith No. 4.
