| March 31, 2014 8:00 AM

GRANT COUNTY — The 8-year-old boy who died after being pulled from a canal near Summer Falls Dam was identified as Korey Kolves.

Kolves, of Ephrata, died late Sunday night at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake after emergency responders were able to remove him from a vehicle that had gone into a canal.

Two other children, who were not identified, were rescued by bystanders fishing nearby, according to the sheriff's office. Scott Kolves, 45, is still missing and presumed dead at this time.

Recovery efforts for Kolves resumed Monday morning after Grant County Search and Rescue, Grant County Fire District 5 and Moses Lake Fire Department Search and Rescue were unable to find Kolves before the search was suspended Sunday night.

The two other children involved were transported to Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
