Marsha A. Koba

Longtime Soap Lake resident and Ephrata pharmacist, Marsha A. Koba, passed away March 20, 2014 at Central Washington Hospital. She was born December 4, 1950 in Moses Lake, Washington to Frank and Miyo Koba. She was raised in Moses Lake and graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1969. Marsha earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Washington State University in 1974 and went to work for Jack Potter at Potter Drug in Othello, Washington. Shortly after that, she moved to the Potter Drug in Ephrata and stayed there until the store's closure. Most recently, she was employed by Rite Aid. During her forty years as a pharmacist, Marsha enjoyed getting to know her customers and taking care of them. She made long lasting friendships through her work which she dearly loved. Her favorite pastimes were cooking for her many friends and co-workers and shopping. Marsha is survived by her mother, Miyo Koba of Moses Lake; brothers Rick (Kathy) Koba of Moses Lake and Doug (Jeanne) Koba of Phoenix, AZ; nieces Kalin (Joel) Armstrong of Spokane and Alexa Koba of Phoenix; and nephew Taylor Koba of Phoenix. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Koba. Marsha will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Please join the family for a graveside service on March 29, 2014 at 11:00 at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. There will be a reception following. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation at 131 Steuart Street Suite 425, San Francisco, CA 94105 or to the charity of your choice.
