Stolen vehicles, parts recovered near ML

MOSES LAKE - Parts to at least eight suspected stolen vehicles were recovered on several properties in the Moses Lake area during a recent investigation.
During the last two weeks, Moses Lake police conducted several investigations to reduce vehicle thefts in the Moses Lake area. As a result, police have searched at least three properties where components of eight locally stolen vehicles were located, according to police reports.
In the most recent investigation, police received information of a possible stolen vehicle at a property on Road 6 Southeast. Following the recovery of the vehicle, several search warrants were issued for the property. Police believed the property was being used to dismantle stolen vehicles. Moses Lake police, the Spokane-based State Patrol Auto Theft Unit, and Grant County deputies, found parts from at least five stolen vehicles. They included a chopped up pickup truck in a garage and a trailer.
Two people were arrested during the investigation. Their names have not yet been released because of an ongoing investigation into the alleged car thefts.
Police are still looking for Derek Hulbert, 43, of Moses Lake, who was not at the Road 6 property during the search.
