MOSES LAKE - Customers at the Moses Lake Walmart will see some construction work for the next couple of weeks as the store undergoes a major remodel.

The project involves replacing the store's flooring, upgrading the bathrooms switching around the general merchandise aisles and painting, Walmart corporate spokesperson Delia Garcia said.

She said the remodeling work is part of the company's efforts to refresh the Moses Lake store, which has been in business for a little over 20 years.

"We're always looking for ways to improve service to the customer and the customer experience," said Garcia.

In fact, the store added a full line of groceries in 2002 to do just that, she said.

"That gave customers the benefit of one-stop shopping at Walmart," said Garcia.

She said Walmart saw the chance to improve customer experience again, this time by refreshing the inside of the store. After 20 years, any store would need a face-lift, said Garcia.

"All our stores have a regular remodeling schedule," she said. "We look to upgrade and change things that need to be changed and this remodel is an opportunity to do that."

The remodeling project at the Moses Lake store should be completed by early May.

"We're making changes that the customer is going to see and that are going to lead to a better shopping experience in the store," she said.
