Moses Lake tennis hosts jamboree

MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake tennis opened its season hosting Cheney, Othello and Ellensburg in a jamboree.

The Chief girls finished 8-9 on the day while the boys' record was 3-7.

"The Chiefs look forward to adding to their depth on both the boys and girls ladder as players gain eligibility to compete in match play over the next week," head coach Richard Gregoire said.

No. 1 singles player Carina LeFave finished 2-1 on the day, losing a tough match to Cheney's Katelynn Smedley, 6-2.

Chad Palmer, No. 1 on the boys side, finished a perfect 3-0 on the day.

Juliana Medel and Micayla Friend were 2-1 and 2-0, respectively.

"Julia Medel played two long sets concluding tie breakers splitting them to earn a 2-1 record for the day," Gregoire said.

The doubles team of Sara Kersey and Queen Bacat were 2-1.

On the boys' side, the trio of Ming Blowser, Billy Francis and Vaugh Koreis were unable to earn a win.

Moses Lake will travel to face Kennewick Tuesday before competing in the Lewiston Invite this weekend.
