Hats off to Lowe's and their volunteers

| March 14, 2014 6:00 AM

This group contacted Carry Liles, general manager of the Moses Lake Senior Center and asked if there was anything that needed to be done at the Senior Center.

Carry told them there were three projects she wanted done but lack of funds prevented them from being completed.

One of them was a roll-up window in the Birch Room from the kitchen so when there is a dinner meeting or luncheon, food could be served through the window and food could also be served in the dining room for the seniors who come for lunch at the same time.

Carry also wanted a fully automatic electric door so patrons with wheel chairs or walkers wouldn't have to struggle to open and close the door.

And for the comfort of the seniors eating lunch, including me, Carry wanted a second door inside the main door entry to prevent gusts of cold air from reaching those who are eating or doing other things.

Needless to say, Lowe's and their volunteers completed all of these projects at no cost to the Senior Center. The Senior Center is very grateful for the work they did to make things better for our seniors.

I would also like to express my appreciation to Carry Lisles, our general manager for all she does at the center, always thinking of our seniors. We are very lucky to have Carry as general manager. Where ever she is needed, whether it be in the kitchen cooking, serving or helping someone with their coat, she is there.

Thanks Carry, you are doing a great job.
