Annual meeting scheduled in Schawana

SCHAWANA - There will be two good reasons to attend the community meeting at the Schawana Church on Monday, March 24.

The first is the election of two members to the board of directors of the Sentinel Gap Water Association, which provides potable water for the community.

One of the two seats up for election has an incumbent director. The second is an open seat. There will also be an annual financial report from the SGWA's leadership.

The business meeting will get under way at 6 p.m. After adjournment, the second reason for attending - a potluck dinner - will get under way.

SGWA Secretary Tina Gutierrez believes the meal will likely be dominated by Mexican dishes.

"Everyone is invited, and bring anything you want," she said.
