Sealed bids will be received at City Hall, 321 South Balsam, (P. O. Box 1579), Moses Lake, Washington 98837 until March 26, 2014, 2:00 P.M., for the above-named improvement. Said bids will be opened and publicly read at that time. All bids shall be received before said opening time in sealed envelopes with SEWER FORCE MAIN PROJECT - 2014 marked plainly thereon.

All bids shall be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a postal money order, cashier's check, or bond in an amount equal to 5 percent of the maximum total amount of the bid. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract or furnish a satisfactory contract bond within the time stated in the specifications, the deposit shall be forfeited to the City.

Plans and specifications shall be obtained at the City Hall at the above address for a non-refundable fee of $35. Only bids from bidders who have purchased plans and specifications at the City Hall will be accepted. Copies of plans and specifications are on file for review at various construction councils.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project consists of installing 12,500 lineal feet of 20” C-905 PVC Sewer Force Main including installing connecting to existing 20” AC and PVC sewer force mains, installing 3 new Air Relief Valves and replacing 6 old Air Relief Valves. The bid also includes repaving the trench crossings of county roads, repairing disturbed driveway entrances, regarding and gravelling of the county ditch and replacing any disturbed survey monuments. Work includes repairing an existing 4” gate valve and a 20” gate valve. Installing 110’ of 30” steel casing under an existing railroad line is also part of the bid.

Estimated Project Cost: $1,450,000

The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids if such action is in the best interest of the City.
