Henry V. Zarate Sr

Henry V. Zarate Sr. 79, long time resident of Moses Lake, Wa went to be with our Lord and Savior surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 27, 2014. Holy Rosary will be prayed at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church immediately followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Pioneer Memorial Gardens.

He was born July 16, 1934 in Brownsville, Texas to Pedro and Fernanda Zarate. In 1952 he moved to Moses Lake, Wa where he worked at Safeway for twenty two and a half years and raised his family.

Henry loved to dance, fish, hunt, spend time with his family, barbeque, and going to the Indian Reservation. He was a kind loving man that was loved by everyone and loved visiting with his friends and loved ones. Henry sponsored two girls from foreign countries and took pleasure from knowing that he was helping them towards a better life, and loved caring for his two great-grandchildren in their early ages for three years. He also loved driving truck and taking his family on vacations. He had a kind heart and did what he could for those he loved.

Henry was survived by his children, Mary Zarate, Margie Zarate (Carlos), Henry Zarate Jr, Kathy Zarate; grandchildren, Tom Zarate (Celinda), Shawna Garcia, Christina Garcia, Jessica Hernandez, Melissa Louthan, Jason Zarate (Gina), Chanelle Badley, Chalissa Badley, Ckathleen Badley; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Aurora Gonzalez (Fred), Alfonso Zarate (Josie), Celia Wojdan (Dennis), Sergio Zarate (Gail), Ray Zarate, Josie Zarate (Ramiro), Richard Zarate (Charlene); and his former wife, Mitzi Cruz.

Proceeded in death by his parents Pedro and Fernanda Zarate; brothers Peter Anthony Zarate and Johnny Zarate; and son in-law Richard Rodriguez.
