Big Bend bounced from NWAACCs

KENNEWICK - The Big Bend Runnin' Vikes will not place at this year's Northwest Athletic Association of Community College's (NWAACC) tournament.
BBCC was able to rebound from its first round loss to Bellevue by beating Lower Columbia, 84-69, Sunday. But Big Bend was knocked out of tournament play after falling to Chemeketa, 83-77, on Monday.
The Runnin' Vikes saw four players reach double figure scoring against Lower Columbia, a stark contrast from just two against Bellevue.
Sophomore guards Brendan Westendorf and Victor Aguero scored 21 points each. Westendorf also grabbed seven rebounds and recorded a game-high four steals.
Aguero led Big Bend with five assists.
Sophomore guard Kevin Walker and freshmen forward Sean McDonnell scored 11 and 15 points, respectively.
The Runnin' Vikes were able to find their outside touch that was missing against the Bulldogs. Big Bend shot 47.8 percent from the 3-point line. Aguero led all scorers with five made 3-point baskets.
During Monday's loss to the Storm, Big Bend's 3-point percentage dipped to 24 percent. Westendorf scored a game-high 25 points, but shot just 34 percent from the field. Westendorf also recorded eight rebounds and dished nine assists.
Walker scored 19 points in the loss.
