DES MOINES, Iowa - The Columbia Basin well be well represented at the 10th annual National Junior High Finals Rodeo in Des Moines, Iowa as Warden's Dylan Beck qualified in the chute dogging and team roping events.
DES MOINES, Iowa - The Columbia Basin well be well represented at the 10th annual National Junior High Finals Rodeo in Des Moines, Iowa as Warden's Dylan Beck qualified in the chute dogging and team roping events.
Beck, 15, finished third in state in chute dogging and fourth in team roping. This year will be Beck's second trip to the NJHFR.
Beck has been rodeoing since he was three years old and his favorite events are team roping and calf roping.
Beck is also a member of the EWJRA and CTJRA rodeo associations where he competes in events from April through August.
The NJHFR features around 1,000 contestants from 42 states, five Canadian provinces and Australia, making it the world's largest junior high rodeo.
Contestants vye for more than $100,000 in college scholarships and the chance to earn the title of National Junior High Rodeo Finals Champion.
Events run through Saturday and can be seen at NHSRATV.com.
The championship performances can be seen as part of the Cinch High School Rodeo Tour series on RFD-TV.
