| June 26, 2014 6:00 AM

Kathy Jo Morris, born May 5, 1970, in Omak, Wash. A resident of Moses Lake, Wash., since July 15, 2001 died on Sunday, June 22, 2014, after a short battle of cancer at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, Wash.

Kathy graduated from Omak Christian Academy in 1988 and lived there until she married Justin Morris on December 23, 1994. They then moved to Virginia to be stationed with the Army. In 1997 they got out and moved to Wenatchee for a year and then Justin's job moved them to Lewiston, Idaho for 6 months and then to Missoula, Mont. After 6 months there, they moved back to Omak where they both worked for Wal-Mart for a few short months. In January 2000 they moved to Seattle and lived there for a year and half. Justin was laid off and they decided to move to Moses Lake where they have lived since.

Justin decided to join the National Guard and a month later was offered a full time position in 2007. At first, Kathy did not like the idea, but when she saw how well the National Guard took care of them, she felt blessed. Kathy and Justin could not have children of their own and decided to do foster care and tried to adopt. In 6 years Kathy and Justin fostered 60 children and through all those children, they found one amazing little boy to adopt, their son Chance. He is now an amazing 8-year-old little boy and she was so proud of him.
