David was born November 5, 1941 in Wenatchee, WA and his family were long time residents of the Moses Lake area. His father worked in the Bremerton Naval shipyard. After the war, he returned with them to Moses Lake in 1948. He graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1959. He studied electrical engineering at Central Washington University and Washington State University. Before his graduation from WSU, David enlisted in the Navy and spent 5 years in their nuclear submarine program and one year on the USS Boston Cruiser during the Vietnam Conflict. At the request of the Navy, David spent a year training Engineers at the Arco Idaho Nuclear Propulsion Test Reactor. After Graduation, David worked in the San Francisco Bay area for several years for Pacific Gas & Electric and Sverdrup Corp. He fulfilled one of his career ambitions by opening his own electrical consulting company. Although primarily working in the Bay area, David did some electrical consulting for the city of Moses Lake which gave him the opportunity to visit friends and family. He battled Leukemia for several years, but was unsuccessful in finding a compatible donor for a bone marrow transplant. David was a model for all of us with his courage in facing his adversity. He was proud of his self commitment to continue working until he passed away.

David was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He is survived by his wife Rosario; daughter Vanessa; Step-children William, Edwin and Karen; grandchildren William, Santiago, Javier, Carlos and Alexia; his mother Lorna Deshaw Thomas; brothers Carroll and Larry; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
